Specific components remain latches for electric vehicle growing. Power and energy sources, electric machines, power electronics or mechanical transmission should reach several design objectives as higher power and energy density, higher reliability, higher durability, lower cost, better integration and so on.
In order to further promote excellence of research in Vehicle Power and Propulsion, in conjunction with the tenth annual IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC 2014), a special section in the IET Electrical Systems for Transportation will be published to focus on state-of-the-art research and development as well as future trends in the modeling, design, control, and optimization of energy storage components and electric power devices for advanced vehicles.
This Special Section is focused on component and sub-systems level. Papers related to the complete vehicular system will not be considered. Paper dedicated to system level can be submitted to another special section.
Selected papers presented at the VPPC 2014 will be invited to submit an extended version, preferably with an adapted title. A thorough peer review will be conducted to select top papers to be included in this special section. Please note that a journal submission should offer substantial novel contributions beyond the previous work in a conference paper (no less than 50% of new material and IEEE requires the original paper to be properly cited). The conference paper must be submitted with the new paper, as a supplementary file.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited, to the following:
-
Design, modeling and simulation of specific power subsystems,
-
Diagnosis and control of power subsystems,
-
Vehicular power electronics and electric machines,
-
Vehicular electric subsystems (drive/brake/X-by-wire, electric steering, 42V and higher voltage PowerNets, …),
-
Energy storage and electric power sub-systems for advanced vehicles,
-
Automotive, railway, subway, ships, aeronautic and aerospace applications.
- Deadlines -
Manuscript Submission: February 15, 2015
Estimated publication date: December 2015
